I have created a page on my site www.landscapenashville.com that has pictures and a description of a Dry Creek Bed as a solution for steep areas for drainage. Dry creek Beds are decorative and solve drainage problems at the same time. Someone may have a small grand canyon where the water is eroding the soil away and now a dry creek bed can be a solution that stops the eroding, and is a decorative landscape feature on their property. The page with this information is

Thank you
Can you give a recommendation for a Tennessee native species to plant in a dry creek bed? Our lawn care company is recommending English Ivy but as we are right next to the Warner Parks, I want to avoid planting a species native to Asia / Europe.
Hi I would use Heavenly Bamboo Nandina or Gulf Breeze Nandina around dry creek beds, they are not native but look really nice with water themed areas. I am not familiar with native plantings at all. I tend to plant plants for their aesthetic purposes and I work not to plant invasive species. I don’t believe Nandina are invasive in our zone but in a different zone they may be. I hope this helps.
